Programs & Services - Goals & Objectives

Greg Bellush is the Controller for Latin America for the Consumer business at Dell. Bellush earned his baccalaureate degree in International Studies and Spanish from Miami University, and his MBA at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He has assisted multinational corporations such as Dell and Continental Airlines with their finance management and pricing strategies. Between his undergraduate and graduate terms, Bellush volunteered for two years with the U.S Peace Corps.


Tracy Benedict (Vice-Chair) is a CPA and Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP in Austin. She earned her MPA and BBA in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. Benedict is a member of several professional organizations, including the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. She is a proponent of helping students achieve a college education and has volunteered as a mentor with various youth programs, and works with several universities in her capacity as a campus recruiter.


Paul Brownell (Chair) is a Principal at Growth Acceleration Partners, a management consulting and software development outsourcing company. Brownell specializes in developing business strategy, leading change and implementing world-class software practices. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Tennessee, with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.  Brownell is past president of The Next to New Shop, a retail consignment shop whose proceeds go to local charities.


Jason Fernandez (Secretary) is a Managing Director at the McLean Group, a national, middle-market investment bank, and is also a founder and partner of VVV Capital Partners, a diversified private equity firm. Fernandez earned a B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University and graduated with an MBA focusing on Health Sector Management and Strategy from Duke University. 


Lisa Fielder (Ex-Officio) is the co-founder and Executive Director of College Forward. She is a two-time finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was named a “Local Hero” in 2006 by the Bank of America Foundation.  In 2008, she was awarded the “Excellence in Service Award” by the College Board – Southwest Region for her catalytic innovations in education access and in college counseling. Fielder holds a B.A. from Trinity University and an M.Arch from Rice University.


Mike Fitzpatrick is a finance executive with decades of experience in accounting, fundraising, and building organizations. Fitzpatrick has served as CFO for Lane15, Motive, and nGenera, among other companies. He earned an MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology after receiving a B.S. in Finance from Bowling Green State University.


Bill Forsberg has an extensive background in corporate leadership and nonprofit consultation. He held leadership positions in the computer services sector for over 30 years, working primarily for EDS and Perot Systems, and he led the design, implementation and ongoing operations for many major projects and large accounts in the US, England, France, Italy and India. In the nonprofit world, Forsberg was a technical advisor for the Perot Family Foundation. He also was a Partner in Dallas Social Venture Partners (DSVP) and a leader in a Texas-wide selection process for nonprofits in the Education sector. The selected nonprofits received monetary grants funded by the M.R. and Evelyn Hudson Foundation.More recently, Forsberg has been assisting a number of nonprofit organizations in Austin with developing successful organizational designs and strategies. He is a founding partner of Innovation+, which assists nonprofits poised for major growth with growth capital funding and management consulting.


Elsa Hinojosa is the Executive Director for High School Performance at Hays Consolidated Independent School District. Previously she had served as the Principal for Lehman High School, beginning with the school’s opening in 2004. Hinojosa was instrumental in College Forward’s expansion from Hays High School to Lehman in 2006 and has been a strong proponent ever since. She holds a M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin.


Sean Kelly is a Managing Director at Cappello Capital Corp., one of the oldest privately held investment banks in the U.S., where he serves as the managing partner for the firm’s Texas operations.  He previously worked on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance in the investment banking divisions of Alex. Brown & Sons and Deutsche Bank.  Over the course of his investment banking career, he has advised dozens of public and private companies operating in a wide range of industries across the U.S. and internationally, including Eastern and Western Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.  Mr. Kelly began his career by serving honorably in the U.S. Army and he currently serves on the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Austin Area.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. 


Robert Manzer, Ph.D., is the Chief Operating Office for the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations, with a focus on strategic organizational development, membership expansion, marketing, academic partnerships and resource development. Previously, Dr. Manzer worked as a higher education administrator at four different institutions, including serving as Vice President for Academic Affairs at St. Edward’s University.  A political scientist, he holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. from Carleton College.


Jackie Mata (Treasurer) is a Wealth Manager for JP Morgan. She has significant background in the areas of finance, investment management, and taxation as she is a CPA and Certified Financial Planner.  Previously, she was COO of the KDK-Harman Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mata was the Director of Wealth Management services at an Austin based investment management firm.  In addition, she had served as the chief financial officer for a family office serving the financial needs of a three-generational family.  Mata began her career at Deloitte & Touche in Michigan as she graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Accounting. Until recently, she served as Vice-Chairman of the Literacy Coalition of Central Texas.


Meg Moore is the Executive Director of the Mariposa Foundation and a principal with Austin Strategic Planning. She began her career at Trilogy Software in Austin and caught start-up fever, co-founding four firms, and advising several others through both the start-up and acquisition process. Moore has nineteen years of experience in the nonprofit sector and is a current board member of Open Door Preschool and  Austin Partners in Education. A graduate of Harvard University, Moore holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin where she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. from the School of Social Work and serves as a guest lecturer on board service and volunteer management.

Ken Womack has a background in corporate finance and business ownership. Currently he is owner and CEO of Triad Boiler Systems, a Chicago-based manufacturing company focusing on the commercial HVAC market. Earlier, his corporate finance experience ranged from financing middle-market companies, either directly or by raising institutional funds, to providing financial solutions to multi-national clients. Prior to Triad, Womack was in the Capital Markets group of ABN AMRO Bank in Chicago, an international bank, where he structured and distributed private debt placements, domestic and cross-border, in a variety of industries. Womack was also a corporate finance generalist with Bankers Trust in Houston, in its Energy Merchant Bank, and a corporate banker with Citibank in New York in the Chemicals Group. He holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas and a MBA in Finance from New York University.
